We were appointed by Gartmore to redesign their rather tired office building over Fenchurch Street Station. We interviewed a cross section of staff to ascertain the company’s expectations of the project and then worked closely with the client and the cost consultant to work out how we could achieve maximum effect with a sensible spend on the budget. The main feature was to be a completely refurbished reception with new security barriers, new finishes throughout and a transformation of a hidden balcony meeting room into a glass floating feature. Unfortunately there was a change of ownership of the company part way through so we have only ended up doing two of the office floors though the refurbishment has included the core WCs and the teapoint and breakout areas. We continue to do bits and pieces for them – you never know we might get to the reception eventually.
