We have been working with Lloyds Register since 2000; we started with a new staff restaurant. Then in 2002 we restacked their 400 staff to enable them to compact themselves within their building and offer floors for sublet. It was not just an exercise to reduce space but also an opportunity to review the layouts to increase staff communication and morale. As part of the project we upgraded all the teapoint areas and introduced breakout areas. In 2003 we completed their new reception which was created out of an empty atrium space. We created a dedicated reception space (formerly they use the joint building reception) making it the ‘face’ of Lloyds Register – reflecting both their past (with classic finishes) plus also reflecting where they are now which is very much looking to the future. Later in 2003 we added a mezzanine floor into a gallery space that linked the old and new buildings – creating more office space. Currently we are working with Lloyds to refurbish 68-70 Fenchurch St to create additional office space and some residential units.
